Now you know I love Brimfield, and enjoyed sharing with you all my lovely and weird finds last year. This year, this Friday actually, I will experience Brimfield in a new and different way. The wonderful ladies from The Daily Basics and Gretchen Aubuchon Design are hosting a Tweetup at Brimfield! For non-Twitterers, a TweetUp is when Twitter friends and mutual followers meet each other IRL — in real life. It feels like a meeting of friends who've been apart too long — even though they may be meeting for the first time. It's the usually joyous collision of social media and the "real" world. Hard to explain if you haven't experienced it for yourself.
And the most exciting part: there are (so far) 82 designers, design bloggers and industry insiders from across the country joining this TweetUp! Look at this list! It is over-flowing with talented, creative people, all coming together to treasure hunt, meet their Tweeps and experience Brimfield in an undeniably new way. If you follow the Twitter hashtag #Brimfield on Friday and Saturday, you will surely see a steady stream of amazing finds as this group explores the market. Don't expect too many tweets from me, as tweeting and walking at the same time is not a skill I have mastered!
We can (and will) thank the wonderful sponsors Benjamin Moore and Aubuchon Hardware and the amazing organizers Cynthia Bogart and Gretchen Aubuchon. They have arranged for participants a centrally-located tent, food, charging stations and myriad other comforts. I expect this will be an event to remember.
If you are looking for anything special from Brimfield, let me know. There will be plenty of eyes scouting the treasures!
